Nutoast at ABASTUR 2026: Field Notes from Mexico City

FIELD NOTE · ABASTUR · MEXICO CITY

We spent 26–28 August at ABASTUR 2026, Mexico’s hospitality and foodservice exhibition at Centro Citibanamex, Mexico City — three days of catching up with partners we already knew and meeting the ones we did not. This note covers what we brought, what the floor looked like, and where to find us in Mexico before September is out.

The event record

Why ABASTUR

ABASTUR is the annual meeting point for Mexico’s hotels, restaurants, cafeterias and catering trade — the HORECA channel that decides what goes on menus and counters across the country. For a pistachio ingredient maker it is the right room: the floor is lined with exactly the counters our products work on — pastry displays, pan dulce cases, gelato cabinets, café menus and chocolate programs.

What We Brought

The pistachio application range for foodservice menus: pistachio sauce and pastes for pastry, gelato and dessert programs, and nut ingredients and inclusions for bakery and beverage lines.

What the Floor Looked Like

Walk the aisles and the applications write themselves: laminated viennoiserie, pan dulce, filled pastries, muffins and display-case desserts — the formats our fillings, toppings and inclusions slot into. The floor made the case better than a spec sheet could.

And the part that does not photograph as well: the meetings. Three days of conversations with distributors, manufacturers and foodservice operators — the kind you follow up in person. Which is exactly what happens next.

Back in Mexico City, 20–24 September

Our Head of Global Markets returns to Mexico 20–24 September for face-to-face client visits. This round is not a public program — it is scheduled meetings, and the pistachio product range comes along. If you are in Mexico and want to talk applications, sourcing or specifications in person, book a slot now — places are limited and go on a first-come basis.
